Thanks to all who attended the 25th Annual Agriculture Awareness Breakfast, Wednesday, March 17 at the Interstate Center, 2301 West Market Street in Bloomington.

 

This year’s breakfast helped to kick off the 100th Anniversary of the Illinois State University Department of Agriculture. Also recognized were this year's recipients of the Maitland Fund:

  • Julie King - LeRoy Elementary School
  • Linda McLaughlin - LeRoy Elementary School
  • Charlene Bokesch-Parsons - LeRoy Elementary School
  • Marc Delaere - LeRoy High School
  • Marta Mason - St. Mary's Catholic Elementary School
  • Kristin Myers - Tri Valley High School
  • Jennifer Burns - Brigham Elementary School
  • Bridget Caldwell - Sugar Creek Elementary School.

 

The Maitland Fund provides grants to local elementary teachers to incorporate agriculture education in regular curriculum and lesson plans. The traditional "Passing of the Hat" will help garner funds more than $1,800 for future grant awards.

 

The 25th Annual Agriculture Awareness Breakfast was sponsored by GROWMARK.
