Who is involved in this project?
-City of Bloomington
-Town of Normal
-Illinois State University
-Illinois Wesleyan University
-Bromenn Healthcare
What does this project entail?
-Improved image of the area, currently the Main Street Corridor
appears old and unwelcoming.
-Both Bloomington and Normal are currently working on zoning in the
areas that are included in the Main Street Corridor to align both
communities guidelines.
-There is currently a moratorium so prevent anymore building on the
corridor until December 31, 2007.
What areas does the Main Street Corridor consist of?
-Main Street from Interstate 55 on the North- Veterans Parkway on the
South
-Every home, business or building on the corridor
When will changes occur?
No date or financials have been set at this time.
Why is this project being explored?
Businesses, Universities and the Town of Normal and City of
Bloomington are joining together to improve the appearance of the
Bloomington/Normal community. All entities would like to see our
community to appear as vibrant and growing as we really are, a first
impression is the most important.
