Scholarships
The Women’s Division of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce has established two scholarships of $2,500 each in honor of Margaret Wakeley, the first President of the organization, and two scholarships of $1000 each in honor of Virginia Mosbacher, the second President of the organization. 

The awards are intended to honor women who are permanent residents of McLean County and are planning professional careers. Applicants are evaluated on a variety of criteria including academic performance, record of leadership activities, clarity and focus of career objectives. The scholarships are presented at the annual Athena Award Dinner.

The Margaret Wakeley Scholarship is available to any community member who fits the following criteria:

• You are a permanent resident of McLean County (Proof of local address will be required)

• You are enrolled at Illinois State University or Illinois Wesleyan University

• Your GPA is 3.0 or above (based on a 4 point scale)

• You will be a senior in the 2008-2009 school year

• You will use the scholarship during the 2008-2009 school year

• You are a woman preparing for a professional career

The Virginia Mosbacher Scholarship is available to any community member who fits the following criteria:

• You are a permanent resident of McLean County (Proof of local address will be required)

• You are enrolled at Heartland Community College, Lincoln College, or Bloomington Normal School of Radiography

• Your GPA is 3.0 or above (based on a 4 point scale)

• You will be a sophomore in the 2008/2009 school year

• You will use the scholarship during the 2008/2009 school year

• You are a woman preparing for a professional career

The Leadership McLean County scholarship was established to cover $500.00 of the tuition for Leadership McLean County (LMC). This scholarship is intended for an active member of Women’s Division whose employer will not cover the cost of the program. Applicants are evaluated on level of activity within Women’s Division and the official Leadership McLean County application.

The Leadership Illinois scholarship was established to cover $500.00 of the tuition for Leadership Illinois. This scholarship is intended for an active member of Women’s Division whose employer will not cover the cost of the program. Applicants are evaluated on the level of activity within Women’s Division and the official Leadership Illinois application.
