The Business Center of Influence

Professional Development

The McLean County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer a number of initiatives designed to help train and retain current employees and ensure our area’s workforce for the future.

Whether you work from your kitchen table, from a small storefront, from a warehouse or from a cubicle surrounded by dozens of others just like it, these Professional Development Programs are the rungs you can use to pull yourself up to the next level.

AMPd

The Chamber’s A.M. Professional Development series focuses on experiential learning, not just a lecture with Q and A. This interactive approach is designed to help participants really go in-depth on each topic and learn both from experts and each other. AMPd meets in the Chamber office on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 8-10am. Programs charge $25.00 per individual session.

Business Rountables

While a group-facilitated learning event provides great opportunities to grow your business, there still is nothing quite like learning from others in your field. The Chamber currently offers four roundtable opportunities each month, allowing members to discuss issues and challenges in their specific disciplines. The roundtables place a group of individuals in a room at the Chamber office for 90 minutes to share concerns, ideas and solutions to improve all business in McLean County.

  • Small Business Roundtable meets from 8:00-9:30am on the second Tuesday of each month
  • Human Resources Roundtable meets from 11:30am-1:00pm on the third Tuesday of each month
  • Home-based Business Roundtable meets from 1:30-3:00pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
  • Industry Specific Roundtable meets from 3:30-5:00pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

There is no cost for the Small Business, Home-based Business or Industry Specific Roundtables. Cost is $10.00 for the Human Resources Roundtable to cover lunch.
