Becoming BN a program of the McLean County Community COMPACT, a subsidiary of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce.
Becoming BN was piloted in 2019 and is specifically designed for summer interns, grad students, and recent college graduates in McLean County to learn more about the wonderful attributes Bloomington-Normal has to offer.
Becoming BN will run from June - July of 2020
Six (6) events will be held, including a Kick-Off Event and Closing Party
Cost to participate is $25/ participant
Goal of hte program is to introduce participants to our thriving community and providing them opportunities to network with not only their peers but also community and business leaders.

Volunteer for the Planning Team! We are looking for volunteers to serve on the Becoming BN Taskforce. We have three committees: 1) Program 2) Communications & Outreach 3) Fundraising.
Become a Sponsor! To make the program sustainable we are seeking financial program sponsors, as well as donations for food, venue space, or participant appreciation gifts. Please let us know if you are interested in sponsoring any aspect of the 2020 Becoming BN Program.
Sponsor your interns, grad students, or recent college graduates! Your organization can cover the $25/ person registration fee.

Mix and Mingle and learn about the upcoming weekly events for Becoming BN 10 week program.
Wednesday, June 12 - Lounge about the Roundabout in Uptown Normal
Learn about Constitution Trail and uptown Normal. Stay for a free concert on the lawn, BYO picnic.
Saturday, June 22 - Downton Bloomington Days -Farmer’s Market
Learn about Bloomington, IL history and explore the Farmers Market, Free concerts, Coffee Hound, etc...
Friday, June 28 - Famous Illinois Shakespeare Festival, “As You Like It” at Ewing Theater
Enjoy a provided picnic dinner, show, and networking with community leaders.
Monday, July 1 - National Impact – Volunteer Opportunity at Midwest Food Bank
Learn about the impact community organizations are making in McLean County.
Monday, July 8 - Learn the Nuts & Bolts at Beer Nuts
Sample some local products at Beer Nuts and then head to the Foundry Businesses thriving in Bloomington, IL.
Saturday, July 13 - Fun at Sugar Creek Arts Festival
Presentations at the Children Discovery Museum regarding tourism in McLean County. Then enjoy the free arts festival!
Monday, July 22 - Brews and Bites @ Destihl Brewery
Tour of the brewery followed by an opportunity for networking and socializing.
Tuesday, July 30 - Crib and Corn: Baseball Game @Corn Crib Stadium
Night at the ballpark! Food, networking, and baseball!
Tuesday, August 6 - Closing Party @ Miller Park
Free picnic dinner in one of the open air shelters located near the Miller Park Spray Park.
