Becoming BN is a workforce development program organized by COMPACT, a subsidiary of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to grow our local talent pipeline by creating a community that allows interns, young professionals, and college students to connect with one another and provide exceptional experiences that allow them to view Bloomington-Normal as their home.
2024 Program:
Our first event will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Medici in Normal. You will be giving an opportunity to learn about how you can engage within the community with volunteering. We will have various non-profits join us to showcase their organization so you can learn about them and how you can help.Our second event is on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Blono Pizza Co. You will be able to hear about the different entertainment options within the area with the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts, Grossinger Arena, Cornbelters Baseball, and more! Come to this event to learn about all there is to do around the area and network with interns and young professionals with food, drinks, and golfing!Our final event is on Thursday, July 25th at Crafted. The focus of this event will be health and wellness opportunities in the area. Come join us to hear from some speakers who are experts in that area and give you an option to network and play lawn games.
